What  is  meant  by  "Soft  Tissue"...

Everything other than BONE... is considered "Soft Tissue".  This includes  Muscle,  Fascia,  Circulatory Vessels,  Nerves,  Organs,  Glands,  Ligaments,  Discs,  Cartilage,  Cranial Membranes  and  Sutures.

Fascia, the most pervasive tissue in the body, wraps and permeates every muscle group, nerve and cell in our body... from just under our Skin... to the inside of our Spine and Cranium.  When Fascia shortens, thickens and dehydrates... the restrictions, entrapments and distorting imbalances created, negatively affects the structure and function of our whole body.

Everything  other  than  Bone...

For example... the discs between our spinal vertebrae are soft tissue.  They can be negatively affected by other soft tissues which then contributes to Degenerative Disc Disease... and Pinched Nerves.

When fascia becomes hard and dehydrated, it restricts flow and movement. This contributes to circulatory problems, joint stiffness and pinched nerves.

Fascia can create problems when it "dehydrates"... as it dries out, hardens and shortens... much like a sponge or this river bed.  When that happens, the other types of tissues that it wraps and associates with, are in a sense 'strangled'... and thereby inhibited from functioning properly and optimally.

This practice is based on the principles of Osteopathy
and the utilization of Osteopathic Techniques.
